Wednesday Oct. 4th vs ETS

McGill 40, ETS 12

The battering ram Mark Ihnatowycz made his return to McGill rugby this weekend, and Chris "Hot and Old" Horwood of Vancouver, B.C. had an excellent Varsity debut after a few devastating games for the club team. He kicked five conversions to add the icing on six tries as McGill managed to stay a few strokes ahead of a steadily improving Piranas side.
A set of new faces made their mark in spite of the confusing influence of a French opponent and referee. The try scorers for the Redmen included Adam Sommer from LaSalle, Que., plus Cayse Ruiter of Ottawa, both with overwheling penalty runs. In the second half, momentum started to kick in and tries were added by backs Rupert Common and Darius Chehrzad, pseudo-back Jordan Ross, and forward and South African native Antoine "Better than Sex" Nestle.
The depth of this year's squad proved itself in this win - the lineup can change, but the scoreline stays the same.
To conclude, thankyou to the dedicated club guys who showed up in numbers and flashy tracksuits, whiskey in hand, to cheer us on. Touchant.
