McGill 11, Bishops 3
It was a mustwin game against the barbaric Bishop's Gaitors this past Sunday, and win the Redmen did. The game was scrappy, with a lot of wheeled scrums on both sides. Matt de Graff led the Redmen offensive with some great strategic kicking, not to mention a deft drop goal and a penalty to help the Redmen pull away. He also manage to surgically pierce the Bishop's backline on two occasions. The first time he managed to draw in the fullback and put 13 Frank Hewitt through for the lone try of the game. The second break was followed by some fancy hands by 12 Mark Inatowycz and 15 Adrian Thorogood, again reaching Hewitt in space before being called back for a forward pass.
A lot of big hits were also demanded from the forward pack - Alex Hart, Alex Sebastien, and Jordan Ross supplied the majority of inside hits while Inatowycz and De Graff dismantled the Gaitor inside backs.
The win clinched first place for the Redmen as they enter a QSSF semifinal versus Sherbrooke. Concordia will face up against Bishops to see who will face McGill in the finals.
