Let’s imagine this paper bowl is a brain…
a green brain! We’re going to learn how your brain actually
creates your thoughts, your memories, your feelings and your actions. Now this needs to dry and Bruno needs a walk. Now that our brain is dry, we’re going to
divide it in half to create our left-brain and our right brain. Once we’ve done that we can fill our brain
with neurons! If you didn’t have any neurons, you wouldn’t
have any thoughts. You wouldn’t have any feelings or memories and you wouldn’t have any actions. On average, the human brain has 86bn neurons. Once our neurons are dry we can remove the
tape. Now we need to connect our neurons so they
can send important signals to each other. Our brains have trillions of connections. Neurons use their connections to send signals
that can turn each other on or off, just like a light bulb. This is called firing. Your neurons are firing all the time, even
when you’re asleep. But your neurons don’t just fire at random.
They fire in unique patterns. And these patterns are what creates your thoughts, your memories, your feelings and your actions. I’m going to make four thought bubbles. One for thoughts, one for memories, one for feelings and one for actions. All created by your neurons firing in special patterns. I wonder if our brain can tell us what Bruno’s
thinking. Thank you, Bruno. Look at that wiggly tail. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.
